Our 3 Favorite Spring Fashion Trends

Our 3 Favorite Spring Fashion Trends

What a winter! Not that I’m one to plan my outfits the night before (like I should), but these days would be impossible to do so! I packed away my thick winter coat a few weeks ago but had to bring it out this weekend as the temperature dipped below zero. I won’t complain too much though, snowy weather is always a great excuse for hot cocoa and baking. Enough of the cold, let’s talk about spring fashion! Hello, Spring!
For me, spring doesn’t have to mean bright colors and patterns. In fact, spring fashion can be subtle, simple and minimal.

High-waisted jeans

Dear high-waisted jeans,

Thank you for making a comeback.

XOXO,

-Me

High waisted jeans look good on just about any body type. You can dress them up or dress them down, you can wear them from spring into summer and they will never go out our style. Our suggestion? Don’t go cheap on your jeans. When you do finally find that perfect pair of jeans, that one that fits you in all the right places, it’s ok to spend a little more than you normally would. A good pair of jeans lasts a lifetime and they will always be your favorite pair. A bad pair of jeans is a waste of money and more likely than not, you’ll kick yourself for spending less on a mediocre pair of jeans.
Our favorite brands are Monki (you’ll find them on asos.com), Lou & Grey and Loft. Pair your jeans with a slouchy button-up, a light sweater or a plain tee. There’s not really a top that would look bad with a great pair of high waisted jeans!

Flats and loafers

Flats or loafers will become my go-to shoes this spring. As a girl who will always pick a sneaker over a pair of heels, flats are my new favorite. It’s really hard to find a sneaker that you can dress up, but a good pair of loafers fit any occasion. My favorite loafers are Everlane’s Modern Loafter.
They’re comfortable, extremely well made and match pretty much every pant or jeans I wear! They offer a range of colors on their website, my favorite is the pewter. Everlane is expensive but they are an open book when it comes to where their factories are and the people who make their clothing. If you’re looking for something a little less expensive, try Zara, Asos or DSW.

Oversized tees and tops

Everyone loves a good oversized tee. And an oversized tee doesn’t have to look untidy, my favorite way to wear an oversized tee is tucked into a great pair of high-waisted jeans or pants. If you’re lucky enough to pull of skinny jeans, then leaving your tee untucked is a great look as well!

If you’re ever in the need for fashion inspiration, Pinterest is always a great place to find new trends. No matter your aesthetic or style, you’ll find it on Pinterest. Isn’t it wonderful to live in a time where fashion rules are out and inventing yourself through your style is in? If you’ve got fashion tips to share, or a great combination of color or style, share it with us in the comments!
