Self-Love & Bubble Baths
“The secret of love is self-love in the ultimate sense”
The journey of self-love can be a long and painful one. As parents, we should teach our children this, but unfortunately, parents don’t always have the emotional tools within themselves to share it, we can never give more than we have to give.
My journey began through a lot of chaos and heartbreak. A divorce, business and two young children sent my mind, body, and soul into a very dark place. I was forced to reach deep within myself to ask the questions how and why?
I began to get answers in the form of a man named Ralph Smart on YouTube. I started watching his videos day and night; he taught me that everything you need is already inside of you. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Practicing self-love and self-care can be as simple as saying ‘no’ to certain activities that no longer serve your best self. As women we are givers, lovers, care takers, we give so much of ourselves and usually ask for nothing in return.
Let’s begin to look after yourself more, daily in fact. One of my favorite things to do is take a warm bubble bath. Water is healing for the mind and body.
I love the new FHF Rainbow Bubble Bath
On one of my self-care Sundays, I gave myself a relaxing bubble bath and a hydrating facial mask. It’s imperative that we as women fill ourselves up with so much love and care because we are caregivers, always giving ourselves away with little in return. For that reason, I treat myself better than anybody else ever could.
You can never give something you do not have, if we do not have love and care for ourselves, we can never actually give that to another.
Self-care is one of the ways I show myself, unconditional love.
I started off with the NEW Rainbow Road bubble bath/body wash; it smells like Bartlet pear and coconut. Not too strong at all, sometimes certain brands can be dominant and overpowering, this one is very soft and subtle. It’s more of a unisex scent since it’s so light and refreshing.
Then I washed my face with a Green Tea cleanser. Usually, I use cleansers that are a bit stronger for oily skin to help and control my oil and breakouts but when my skin is calm and less active, I will use the gentle Green Tea cleanser. This antioxidant wash contributes to cleanse away the dirt and oil but does not disrupt the delicate moisture balance in the skin.
When you are masking at home, you want to cleanse your skin well first; you can even exfoliate with some gentle buffing grains. Exfoliation is essential in removing dead skin cells that build up on the surface of our skin. This also helps our skin care products penetrate deeper into the skin. I like to use buffing grains 2x a week.
I used FarmHouse Fresh Guac Star Revitalizing Avocado Hydration Mask to give my skin a fresh glow. This awesome mask is packed with fresh avocado butter, extract and oil to deliver vital fatty acids and vitamins deep into the skin. It also contains two of my favorite ingredients, Green Tea, and Allantoin.
Both of these are amazing in reducing redness, soothing and calming any skin condition. I just put it on with my fingers and left it on for about 10-15 mins. Removed with a warm cloth and proceeded to tone and moisturize.
Don’t forget the eye cream!
Another thing I love is tea. There is something about pouring a warm cup of tea that brings you into the present moment and helps me to focus on the next right thing to do to move my life forward.
After all, forward is the only direction.
