Jeannine in Barcelona
“I’m Jeannine. I grew up surrounded by mountains and sea in Cape Town, South Africa. At 9 years old, my family and I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina and we’ve been here ever since. I’ve always had a keen interest in travel and so, after graduating from NC State, I moved to southern Spain to teach English. I fell in love with the Mediterranean, the afternoon glasses of red wine and the way the sun at dusk made the cathedrals glisten like gold. I returned to Raleigh for a short while before heading off to Barcelona to study a master in Creative Writing. My side project, Jam and Toast, is a way for me to free my creative energy into doodles and little poems about the things I see and feel. ”
We asked Jeannine to leave us with one of her favorite quotes:

“I was surprised, as always, by how easy the act of leaving was, and how good it felt. The world was suddenly rich with possibility.”
― Jack Kerouac, On the Road
